David is right, A symmetrical DSL connection may improve performance,
however they are still typically a "Half Duplex" connection.  That means
data can only travel in one direction at any one point in time.  Another
option if the link is the issue, is a "Full Duplex" link. ISP's call
this different things, but essentailly you will pay a premium for this.
Now if there is a lot of traffic outbound, as well as inbound, there
will be data flowing in both directions at the same time, improving link
performance.  Again......if the link is the issue.
