Decision making tools have well and truly arrived!methinks you have confused
decision making with directed advertising, fee

of course, the choice of therapeutic agent rests with the practitioner i expect, but i'd be interested if the pop-up box made it easy (easier) to use a certain brand

reminds me of my suggestion that md2 would pop up funeral parlours when the recently bereaved attended for assistance in coping

a flashback (thanks google) :

dear sir

if you have any ideas as to whom I can address my dissatisfaction with the current state of play at the very least I should encourage a hot key to disappear such crap off my screen so I can get on making an informed decision based on my ongoing study, not what subliminal stuff can be foisted upon me

damn, back to the prescription pad and the mims I guess (and try to ignore the cover and all its other advertising inclusions); at least the pad has educational inserts

I would rather my screen is filled with useful information, so where does it stop? and why not make it useful?

ads for diet pills if i record a bmi above certain limit ? funeral packages when I key in the spouse recently bereaved ? the opportunities are endless

more hopefully perhaps instructions re "best practice" in suggesting narrow spectrum antibiotics as first line when some rambocillin is entered, or ads that sedatives are dangerous for people when i stray to the benzos

does the proposed principle suggest where and how big the ads might appear? can I offer to pay a premium (or subcontract a hacker) to not have them, like I first experienced when foxtel was young?

advertising is an expensive malignant process that needs treatment, and my desk should not be the place for such stuff, given my patient may well wonder why i didn't choose the colourful agent that exterminates respiratory pathogens or lifts a cloud of depression or whatever any other dissatisfied customers? I want a tool, not a billboard
