Okay, switching in the camera menu "PC Remote Function: On" I get

$ gphoto2 --auto-detect

I was able to do

$ gphoto2 --capture-image

once (photo saved on camera), but now when doing

$ gphoto2 --capture-image

I can hear the shutter sound and after a few seconds get and error message
*** Error ***
PTP Invalid Object Handle
ERROR: Could not capture image.
ERROR: Could not capture.

After switching "Control with Smartphone: off" in the camera menu, I can enable "USB 
Connection: MTP" and then I get:

After leaving the menu and connecting via USB, the camera screen says "USB Mode: 
MTP", the lens closes and I get:

Looks like Sony plans to release PC software to "turn the ZV-1 into a webcam" 
in July 2020.

If that means a camera firmware update to allow image/video capture, I guess I 
have to wait.
