Progress!

With the code from the Github master branch:

gphoto2 2.5.23 gcc, popt(m), exif, cdk, aa, jpeg, readline
libgphoto2 2.5.25.1 standard camlibs (SKIPPING lumix), gcc, ltdl,
EXIF
libgphoto2_port 0.12.0 iolibs: disk ptpip serial usb1 usbdiskdirect
usbscsi, gcc, ltdl, EXIF, USB, serial without locking

the following works:

$ gphoto2 --shell
gphoto2: {/tmp} /> ls
gphoto2: {/tmp} /> capture-image-and-download
New file is in location /capt0000.jpg on the camera
Saving file as capt0000.jpg
Deleting file /capt0000.jpg on the camera
gphoto2: {/tmp} />

But without doing ls first, I still get the same error I get with "gphoto2
--capture-image-and-download":

$ gphoto2 --shell
gphoto2: {/tmp} /> capture-image-and-download
ERROR: Could not capture image.
ERROR: Could not capture.
gphoto2: {/tmp} />

In shell mode, ls and then capture-preview also works.

But:

$ gphoto2 -L --capture-image-and-download
There is no file in folder '/'.
ERROR: Could not capture image.
ERROR: Could not capture.
$

Cheers,
Andreas.

I see you have libgphoto2 2.5.22 ... can you upgrade to 2.5.25
and see if it improves things for capturing?

I did the update, still no luck...

$ ./gphoto2 --version
gphoto2 2.5.23
