I'd like to see this implemented too. I enjoy video podcasts (dappled in Miro
for a while but got sick of it) but I can't synchronize them to my player like
audio podcasts.

Might I suggest implementing the XML FFMPEG profiles that WinFF (WinFF.com)
uses? WinFF already has an extensive collection of profiles for various
portable video players, like iPod and various implementations of Rockbox (I use
it for the Rockbox Sansa E200 profiles).

I don't think adding a feature like this would be bloat, and gPodder needn't be
dependent on FFMPEG, just Suggest it.

While at first I though "hey, just implement WinFF into gPodder", but WinFF is
written in Pascal (weird, yes) so won't fit to well with Python, and WinFF just
launches FFMPEG *in a terminal* without any fancy frontend at all. I just think
that the extensive collection of built in profiles is tempting.
