Summary: Non unique file names when transferring to media
                    device
           Product: gPodder
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: feature request
          Priority: low
         Component: Application
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]

When I transfer files to my media device, for a small number of podcasts, the
resulting file name for all episodes is podcast.mp3, resulting in the files
overwriting one another.

If I use {episode.published} in the Player.CustomFileName section, I get unique
file names, but for most podcasts I like the {episode.basename} information.

A workaround is to concatenate two or more fields to form the file name. I'm
now using "{episode.basename}_{episode.published}" However, it would be
convenient if gpodder informed the user that the n episodes just transferred
all had the same file name.

I'll also be contacting the podcast producers and seeing if I can get them to
do better tagging.

I've modified the wiki to reflect my experiences:
