--- Comment #12 from [email protected] 2011-11-08 14:34:23 GMT --- So... it seems that save for the file name issue, gPodder can handle Japanese YouTube channels. Then you'd wonder why it couldn't download _any_ videos in the beginning. I think I've figured it out. It's data merging with gpodder.net. As long as you make sure data merging does not occur, gPodder continues to be able to download videos of Japanese YouTube channels. If you let the data merging happen even once, though, from that point on, it fails to work with all the YouTube videos. I suspect that gPodder's database gets "contaminated." The only fix seems to be to remove the YouTube channels and add them back on, after making sure data merging will not occur. I am fairly confident about the above. I am not as confident about the below, because I don't think I have done enough testing about this. It seems that even if you check off the checkbox of "Synchronize subscriptions and episode actions" in the "gpodder.net" tab in the "Preferences" window, gPodder continues to do so if you gave your credentials before. To prevent it from happening, you need not to give your user name --- it seems just giving a false password does not do the trick. Moreover, it seems that some changes this "Preferences" window are somehow not immediately reflected. I restart gPodder to make sure the changes are reflected. Again, I don't think I have done enough testing regarding the latter half of this post, but I just wanted to let you know. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.gpodder.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes. _______________________________________________ gPodder-Bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/gpodder-bugs
