Frankly speaking You are mainly responsible for that i feel.
Just go back through the archives of this thread and see how
chitralekha's issue is used as a shield to protect the personal egos and
opinions. Electronic discussion forum will create results only when
People keep some respect to other opinions. Flamewars may be healthy if
it is not on personal grounds.
Just look back to the Thread again.
16/07/07 We started From a my Forwarded Post (authored by jenni &
Christy Saying
"However, we met a Chithra Lekha who was driven out of her village,
living precariously in a small rented house far away from her home
town. She had no connection with any one from the Action Committee that
was formed to support her. Only a retired school teacher and Dalit
activist in the group was in touch with her and it was he who took us to
her."
17/07/07 09.00 The First Response was from K.M Venugopal on "activists"
"The difference here in Chithralekha's case seems to be mainly the
eagerness shown by the perpetrators, the abettors (and significantly,
even by some of the activists!) to make invisible the real nature of the
horrendous atrocities committed."
17/07/07 19.22 Ranjit's mail interpreted it as Intellectuals turned
the discussion to Intellectuals
"Chitralekha, Rajni S Anand, Neetu pose challenges to this hegemonic
class discourse which the mallu intellectual and feminists(of course
"upper" castes) conveniently avoid..."
19/07/07 10:59 Ranjit Points "the silence of Malayali intellectuals,
cultural leaders, feminists in the chitralekha issue" while they lend
support for Achudanandan in Munnar issue they carried placards
mentioneing "Keezhala"
Then It tuned to the Samskarika Nayakanmar/Nayikamar discussion.
It again showed the glimpses of Retuning to the point with Devika's mail
21/07/07 19:34 Devika 's reply on the same and a query for "Can we all
organise a e-support campaign for Chitralekha at least now?"
Ranjits reply on 21/07/07 20:54 sounds Concern about "victim
"Chthralekha Justifies all his bashing language and all this effort is
to build an "attention" for the cause
"i was not condemning any one.. though i might sound so ...
it's not just a chitralekha issue that is of my concern i m least
concerned abt whether sara joseph, ajita and dilip raj fall on
one side or other my intention to "irritate " people through this
discussion forum was to focus the attention of this small group into
some invisible side of kerala discourses..."
Renjith later escaped by playing the dual role of Authority on the
subject & Guide of the forum on the topic without creating a space for
dialog & planning ( with a lot of Pre-judgements) in the mail on
22/07/07 10:03
"And as Ms Devika suggested let us all those who r concerned in
greenyouth (is Anivar listening) do something either individually or as
group for Chitralekha....
and if possible attempt to construct a forum to problematise the caste
hegemonies ruling our cultural/social/political/academic realms by
initiating a debate centerd on caste (many pro-dalit/subaltern run away
hearing this and get only a few ...nevermind...)"
Anil's Question on "why dont you form a samiti if you need the support
of intellectuals" is respondedby ranjith as follows
"u can see right in front of ur eyes that such a "samiti" exists which u
people delightedly mock at and conveniently neglect
and keep ur abhivadyangal for ur fellow comrades in kerala
u may need it at least for their funeral function"
It goes on... No one alotted me a 24/7 brodband enabled computer & no
one pay for my Time. So Those who interested can look back rest of the
archives if you want
Ranjith, You raised a lot of points. But it was packed with an untrust
to others opinions and Bashing words.
Enough on this thread. So creating a new thread
