we all construct our arguments from ideological positions
and as such, i think, the question of morality being pushed forward at this
particular juncture when issues of dalit/subaltern raised in public/cyber
spaces, would onlyled to undermine it socially/politically///
i do understand dilip's ethical concerns, but i ve posed my reservations
against it, with particulr reference to theissue later in my mails. my
"attack" was not aimed at a person, but his ideological
positioning...personal choices need not be so personal...i think no need for
me to say, personal is political and all those things..
and i cant see chitralekha issue as a local/regional issue which the
frmework of new social movments could easily/happily accomodate.... it has a
historical/cultural/social/political context and need to be placed within
it...else it become part of one of the agendas of NGOs..this is perhaps the
precise ideological diffrence btn me and dilip..
and it seems that the so called progressive voices of kerala refuse to
accept the emerged dalit identiy politics... that's another resaon
this is not the first time that this's happned...from my interactions with
dalit activists and intellectuals i gather that they all have faced similar
problems and morality questions apart from physical attacks from the
progressive/mainstream/etc
it still remains
