വേലി തന്നെ വിളവ് തിന്നുന്ന കാഴ്ച സങ്കടമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.

See they are going to bring a new change and they don't even have to
say why such a change is required and whether all consequences are
considered and weighed. The point I wanted to bring to this forum
being that the standards bodies taking part in personal plans and
doing things in secret without consulting the affected and even
against the strong arguments against these from all participants in
the discussion. There is a conspiracy and I would like to call for
transparency in these debates.

The public discussions happened in indic unicode mailing list can be read from

Why are the standards bodies taking a position opposite to the
conclusions of the public debate? Can't we do anything about it? Could
this consiracy be brought to light and justice?

What can we do now so that the national standards bodies (CDAC I
guess in this case) brings up a public debate and consider all the
consequences of the change and act in the interests of the language
than some persons interest.

I would like to hear what you think. Even though it is a technical
debate and you might not be aware of the arguments of both sides of
the debate, I would like to hear your opinions on the way our national
standards bodies function. Do we want it behind the curtains or do we
want it in public? Why don't they give any logical reasons and
analysis of the consequence before they propose such a change which
will have profound impact on Malayalam Computing for the years to
come? And it is more sad that they don't even have to give this
justification !!! They want chillus encoded, doesn't matter whether we
need it, doesn't matter it breaks the data we already have, doesn't
matter it will bring chaos to our language. I am depply saddened by
these developments. I don't have any objection to chillus getting
encoded if it is the right thing to do, but this secrecy, conspiracy
and dictator like functioning is what saddening me.

Please pass this on. We could still save our language computing.

Cheers
Praveen

You're asking supporters to make their case. Note, though, that with
the characters included in the ballot, theirs becomes the default
position: they don't need to answer these questions to achieve their
goal unless they have reason to believe that ISO member national
bodies will be voting against the ballot with comments that these
characters need to be removed from the ballot. At this point, for
better or worse, I suspect it is highly unlikely that national bodies
will ask for these to be removed from the ballot.
