Dear Sir,
The news item in the front page of your newspaper today declares:
"Conservancy workers, employed by the government ... were being given a pay
of Rs.1,000-1,500 a month. From now onwards, those who had completed three
years of service, would be placed in the pay scale of Rs.1,300-3,000 and
their initial take-home pay would be Rs.2,320 a month. They would become
entitled ... to three per cent increment annually."
A quick math question: if a person begins work at the age of 20, how
many hundreds of years must she live before her salary reaches Rs.10,000 ?
Answer: This is the reason India is the filthiest country in the
world.
