Let's answer all your questions here : for the build-depends, actually I can't add them, because some are to compile the example (not to build the software), or they are unnecessary, because mandatory (a Debian Developer told me so). for the error in the font, I didn't realize I had a too recent fontforge when I edited the font the last time... and the stupid developer changed the sfd format one more time, sadly it's impossible to convert it in a more ancient sfd format, so you will have to upgrade to a recent fontforge to compile the last greciliae font... DVI is a *totally dumb* format (try to see how it's done, it's almost ridiculous), no one should use it to view or (worse) exchange things, it is only a temporary format... The fonts are not included in the dvi file, and so your dvi viewer tries to find them on your system, which has two consequences : it sometimes fails (like in your case), and you can't exchange a dvi file with someone who don't have exactly the same system... So it's more wise to use pdf or ps...
