I think I've fixed the intl problem. It was expecting config.h someplace
different than it actually was...

I've taken libtoolize from fink, which copies the libltdl subdirectory -- and
now that's where make is failing now. With this error:
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `../acinclude.m4', needed by
`Makefile.in'.  Stop.
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

Also prior to that (and maybe unrelated), after changing the
AM_GNU_GETTEXT([external]) line, I now get some warnings like
configure.ac:24: warning: AC_COMPILE_IFELSE was called before AC_GNU_SOURCE
(with no actual complete errors until the one I gave above). Are there other
changes I should be making besides that one in configure.ac?
