Your suggestion got me so curious that I tried it out. Your suggestion
ruled out the bolshift code.
The sequence Albert is speaking of is:
(c3) I(g)pse(e') præ(f)í(h)bit(h')
If I shorten the second syllable thus:
(c3) I(g)e(e') præ(f)í(h)bit(h')
Ignoring the fact that the word is wrong, the hyphen shows up.
Hyphenation is still working at some level. The spacing between the (g)
and (e') is computed to be small enough that a hyphen is not necessary.
Perhaps some extra condition is necessary (or was lost) because the
first syllable has no letters under its note, but comparing 3.0 with
4.0, I can't figure out what that is.
At this point, I really have to give in to the need for sleep, so I'll
put off any further investigation until Sunday evening.
