sorry for the late answer. I think this code is quite correct, the empty text of the first syllable (not counting the initial) and the "pse" are close enough not to need any hyphen... What's missing for Gregorio is the information that it must put an hyphen instead of no text in the first syllable. I admit I cannot remember how it used to be done, but I would look in this direction...
