Hello, (I hope that I'm sending this message to the appropriate place!) I am the developer of sacredmusicproject.com -- a site that is currently publishing the English chant composition of Fr. Columba Kelly, OSB of St. Meinrad Archabbey. Fr. Columba sees his vocation now, as a composer in old age, to compose settings of English liturgical texts in the Gregorian idiom. He has done this prolifically for the past forty years and now has his eyes set on the texts of the new English translation of the Roman Missal when it arrives, which it is hoped will be within the next two years. Currently he is typesetting with St. Meinrad chant fonts, which were developed at St. Meinrad and which seem to be fairly commonly used in the chant typesetting world. As good of a final product as the fonts can often produce, I have to say that Fr. Columba loathes using them! The amount of manual labor involved is very aggravating, especially considering the amount of work that Fr. Columba has set before him. He is very interested in the Gregorio project, and he and St. Meinrad Archabbey are open to adopting the platform when it is ready for production.
Can you offer any sort of idea on when a stable version with GUI might be available? Again, this project looks very very promising--And we want to get our hands on a GUI as absolutely soon as possible! Does the project have adequate funding? Does it need more funding? What's the situation? How can we help? All the best, Adam Bartlett sacredmusicproject.com _______________________________________________ Gregorio-users mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/gregorio-users
