That is not the correct usage of the command. The first and second arguments 
should be the same text in both cases:

\gresetfirstlineaboveinitial{your text here}{your text here}

The way I set the size is to set it in the {} using the usual text size 
commands such as \tiny or \setfontsize. For example:

\gresetfirstlineaboveinitial{\tiny \textsc{ANT.}}{\tiny \textsc{ANT.}}
