I'm not sure what specific distance you're referring to, but all the
different spaces and their default values are located in the file
gsp-default.tex - you can change any of them as you wish. Or, to be
more clean, follow this advice from the website:
- copy the file gsp-default.tex, renaming it as gsp-myspaces.tex
- change the values of the spaces however you wish
- call \GreLoadSpaceConf{myspaces} in your main .tex file (before your scores).

Do you have an image/file of this? I don't know which empty lines
you're describing.
