Dear Gregorio people, My name is Fr. James Moore, O.P. I am a DMA student in Sacred Music at the Catholic University of America.
I am in need of a chant engraving program (could be modern note heads or neumes) to do a major project in chant. I was recommended your program by a number of the brothers in the Dominican order and am trying to figure it out. I regularly use finale as my modern notation program. I am also VERY computer illiterate. Finale is very difficult for me to use, but I have gotten the hang of it due to a lot of practice last summer. I am hoping to do the same thing with a comparable chant program. However, it seems as though to use Gregorio I would have to use an old computer language from the 1970's. I am also unable to follow the logic of the tutorial (or do to it online). My brothers have also warned me that it is very difficult to get Gregorio working on a PC computer...I feel overwhelmed!
