The main difference between
2ab. {E}c(ehg)
and
2ab.() Ec(ehg)
is that in the second case, a line break can occur after "2ab.", which
is certainly not what you want. It will also change the spacings into
something you might not want. I think it's best to use the first form,
but the second is not "dangerous", it's just different in some edge cases.
