Eh. A slider in the notification editor would work fine.

The main problem is that it just doesn't fit. I still can't think of a  
reason why one notification should last longer than others. If you  
need notifications to stay up longer, then they should all stay up  
longer.

Or, to put it differently: If you don't notice a notification if it's  
only up for a few seconds, then why would you let any notification be  
so short?
