I followed the instructions in the first place (i.e. stop growl, run beephammer, disable verbose logging in beephammer, restart growl) and still records were being written to the log file. I just repeated that sequence and I am still getting records written to the growl log.
BTW, probably not related, but when I attempt to open Growl preferences from the toolbar, I get a message from the Preferences window that I am attempting to install the Growl preferences. That is strange.
