I really doubt that a computer running for a month or more is going to cause
a fire. Especially since servers run for years and don't cause fires. Fans
are designed for this task. However, I'll do some follow up research and
report back if anything is different.

It is however irresponsible of you to leave a computer on while on holiday.
You could have conserved energy consumption by turning it off. Please think
of the environment in the future.

See how this can all be turned back on you? Instead of automatically blaming
people for things that you don't know much about, it would be advisable to
instead just state facts. These are the facts based on your email:

1) You went on vacation for a undetermined (per the email) amount of time.
Holiday can be 3 days or 3 years.

2) You came back to where your mac is, and the fans were on high.

3) You are blaming Growl for this.

That's it, that's all you provided to us as actual information to help you
here. Let's try sticking to the facts here. If Growl actually caused your
machine to run for a long period of time with fans on high, I want to know
how you determined this. If it's simply "I stopped Growl and it stopped
running the fans on high" that's not enough to blame Growl. Something else
could have been stopping at the same time.

I don't believe Growl did this. We haven't received a report like this while
the current release is out (or any report in my memory to be honest). If
this was an issue, more people who had left their computers on while on
vacation would have contacted us. You're the only one. This is not to say
that I don't believe that you believe this is the case, or that I'm calling
you a liar. I'm simply pointing out that this is highly unlikely based on
all of the actual evidence presented to us.

Give us something we can work with.
