I am having exactly the same thing.  The entire list is empty.
Perhaps I don't have any apps that use Growl I thought.  I do have
Dropbox, Outlook, VLC installed  I restarted immediately after
installation, growl is running at startup and I have now killed and re-
launched dropbox.
