Nah, I don't think that uninstall/reinstall is going to help here. Contact VLC and contact Dropbox about the problem. I bet they are using our isInstalled method incorrectly. Alternatively when the 1.3 sdk comes out you can try the workaround with the 1.3 framework. If it works then, then I'm right about the isInstalled method.
We are in contact with the Dropbox people, but I don't have any contact details for anyone at vlc.
