It sounds like this is actually an AppleScript app.  The name of the
application that you should be picking in the list should now be
"Growl".  We have posted updated documentation and recommendations on
how to detect growl's presence for AppleScript applications as well as
writing a single script that works with 1.2.x and 1.3.x.
