Melvin, gotcha, i'd then suggest grabbing Growl Version Detective, it uses spotlight to find Growl installs http://www.growl.info/downloads#generaldownloads
I had a real enjoyable time trying to buy 1.3 when it was released. my system was strewn with 20 or 30 copies of various builds of 1.3.
