Hi there, I understand this may not contribute to a solution, but I'm having the same issue commonly described in this thread
- Growl version 2.1.2 - OS X Version 10.9 - Mainly use growl for use with the official desktop Twitter client, but also utilize it for use with Adium and Skype. - Using notification style labeled “Smoke”.
