Also open Activity Monitor and search for Growl in the search list for
processes and send a screenshot of that. We'll get to the bottom of this.
Some companies a few years ago decided to ship an old modified by them
development version of the Growl framework which installed an old version
which checked for updates something like hourly. Sounds like you are
running into that. It's not something we handed out to developers but given
the open source nature of Growl it's just something we've had to deal with.

Anyhow we'll figure it out. Stick with us. :)
