So are just the straight grid-ascii files, which is what IIf I understand you right - as far as I know, you cannot use output of the gridascii command as input to Gstat, since this output does not contain x, y coordinates for each cell location. It is a 'plain' ascii format with a header.
think we have used as input to Gstat.
