I think that your idea is not bad, but you can't obtain something by talking rudly like that, especially to Jeroen or about Rapha�l. It's better to come on the iirc and explain slowly your point of view.
I was in the battle of metaconfig and autostuff :
with autostuff every developper must have the same version to build the makefiles.
It's not acceptable to update the tools of everybody each six months,
it's the main reason why autostuff was kicked off.
The other reasons were explain here several times.
