As a Japanese translator, I'd like to suggest using
ngettext() function, rather than preparing each form of
substantive with suffix character 's' in src/ui/gtk/settings.c.
Since there is no plural forms concerned with host(s),
connection(s), up/download(s) in my language or
non-Western languages?

I know it might be make source code unsimplified or
looks ugly, and I'm sorry to say not sending a proper
patch, but it makes me happy if fixed this trivial problem.
