Yes, I would be interested in a custom front rim.
And Yes, Bill, it is I who couldn't mount Kisan's tire alert on the
front wheel because the valve stem comes out at an angle. Just have rear
monitored.
The stock rim has a curve in the middle. The reason it comes out an
angle and is not centered is for clearance of the brake rotor which is
very close to the inside diameter of of the rim.
What Kisan wanted to do was drill a new hole on the "flat" part of the
rim so it came out perpendicular, but couldn't because would have been
too close to the bead lock on the inside of the rim. They even
considered countersinking a section of the center "bow" to provide a
flat spot and move the stem mount far enough back from the edge to clear
the bead lock, but didn't know how much meat was in the "bow".
Now if this new outfit made a flat rim across the middle, it would solve
the problem.
Kisan was coming out with a new, more streamlined stem, so I'll have to
check back with them as well.
So keep me advised Darren by sending me an e-mail directly as I have the
GTS list on digest mode and just don't get to all of them.
