I'm in Charlotte NC about 4 hours away, and I too have only passed thru
Knoxville for the most part. The Hoot will be on the Southeast side of town
and everything is at one place (unlike it was at Asheville). However, the
Southeast side of town is not exactly the nicest part of town. Based on what
some have told me the North end of town is alot better place to stay. There
aren't any hotels really close to the Hoot location to speak of. We're
staying on Merchant St. which is on the North side just off I-75. There are
lots of hotels and resturants in that area. We plan on making a trip up
there in late April to check out the area better (that is if Yamaha will
ever produce some bearings for my upper A arm).
