Peter, terribly sorry to hear about your accident. I'm at somewhat a loss
for words - I feel like saying that you have horseshoes - not many people
can say they have walked away from a head on accident, yet I'm sure it's not
much consolation. I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery. Glad to
see that your able to write to us and I'm sure that riding your beloved GTS
will be the "carrot" that encourages your recovery.

I went for a club ride yesterday and met a young fellow (maybe 24 years old)
who was involved in a terrible accident at work last year and almost lost
his leg. After his recent 4th surgery, he now carries a collapsible cane
with him and keeps almost all his weight off the injured leg, but expects to
have full use of it someday. What amazed me was that he was still riding
his Suzuki TL1000R - and well (pulled a couple of wheelies)! He almost
never put his one foot down when he stops. When I asked him about it he
said that he had nightmares about it until he actually rode again, and then
it wasn't that bad. We got to talking and I told him that if I were to get
a second bike, that it would probably be his, so he offered to let me take
it for a burn......OH YEAH!!! As I left, one of the other guys warned me
that once I rode a twin I would never want to go back to 4 cylinders. He
was right, I loved it, but I'll never part with my GTS. But what a great
second bike that would make. Ahhhh.....what dreams are made of.

All the best,
GWN
