This is from Mike Traynor, founder of Ride for Kids.......... -----Original Message----- From: Mike Traynor [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Sunday, March 18, 2001 10:15 PM To: MIke Traynor Subject: Winding roads, motorcycles and barbque Top Secret - For motorcyclists only World Class BBQ discovered in western North Carolina mountains March 18 - Chimney Rock, NC (Between Bat Cave and Lake Lure) Whilst delving in our favorite motorcycling pastime, carving lines on worldclass mountain curves, Di and I came across a brand new BBQ aficionado's Valhalla today. Fresh from an invigorating romp through Hickory Nut Gorge, on the mountain road of 74-A, we had just snicked the transmission down a couple of gears as we rolled into the north end of Chimney Rock when we were greeted by a magnificent and substantial new log building with "Cajun Pig" emblazoned on its front porch. Since it was lunch time we decided to put the kick stand down and see what this truly stunning bit of log architecture had to offer our gastronomical needs. There were cars parked everywhere we looked except for right at the front door. Lo and behold there we found neatly painted lines that only a motorcycle could fit into, aka "Preferred Motorcycle Parking"! A great motorcycle ride, my best girl on the pillion, a neat looking building, special front door parking for bikes only..... we decided that even if the fare wasn't outstanding, we were still going to like it here. But the food was every bit as delectable as the ambiance. And the menu spoke of treats that would delight most any palate. Pork BBQ, Texas Brisket, Back Ribs, Mesquite Smoked Chicken, Cajun Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Cobbler and Ice Cream to melt a man's heart. Truth is we waddled out of the place with tummy's straining our Aerostiches. It took awhile before we got the motorcycle back up to speed as we wobbled back up into the mountains. So here's the deal. You can only tell another motorcyclist about this place. Because if the car drivers get wind of this dream destination our favorite twisty road is going to get all jammed up with mini vans and SUVs and we'll lose our clean runs down one of the greatest mountain roads known to a set of Metzlers. They have a website at www.cajunpig.com and as of now they are open 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, only Thursday through Sunday, 'cause they take Monday through Wednesday to cook the BBQ for the new week. If you and your motorcycle are headed for our fair part of America, you won't want to miss this latest attraction in western North Carolina. Hopefully Buster Moldenhauer, the Tyrone, GA "Connoisseur of BBQ consumption" will give us a report on his sampling of this scrumptious delight. Unless I miss my guess, he'll rate it at "five pig squeals"! Remember, keep it a secret! Respectfully submitted as a culinary service by, Mike "Oh, am I stuffed" Traynor
