I've had some spacers made , by tracing the base of the mirror , then
getting some aluminium blocks and having them machined to the traced shape ,
then polished .
The mirrors stick out approx 30mm more than standard ,
it's not much but it helps.
The mirror fixing plate was transfered to the block just by using longer
bolts , after obtaining the correct position .
Also the blocks were lightened by removing some of the waste in the middle.
