87 is all mine has ever seen. The compression ratio is not high enough to require any more octane than that. Having said that, however, reminds me of some fuel testing of octanes in different states. At the time, California, Texas and Florida were tested for octane. They were all different, noticably. Florida, at that time mind you, had the highest octane. The reason for mentioning this? If you get in another state where you experience ping, consider the next higher grade octane. RSRBOB
