I just bought a new Armor, made bay Rukka. It's called Air Power R2 (Product Code
23820 R).
http://www.rukka.com/motor/index.html
It is jacket and trousers, made of Cordura AFT by DuPont. After inventing Nylons, this
could be the next "big bang" for DuPont. (Just kidding). Cordura AFT is much more
breathable than every other fabric - Rukka claims, that wearing a Cordura AFT Armor is
like riding in a T-Shirt. With much more protection like your old T has....
The outer Armor liner isn't waterproof at all. But there is a inner liner (detachable,
if temperature rises), made of a special Gore Tex Membrane with DuPonts Outlast - a
Phase Change Material. (no, this ain't a DuPont's Commercial, even if it sounds like.)

How does it work ?
Great. I just have my first ride this year with my GTS. I ride 80 KM through strong
rain, temperatures where between 8 C and 14C. Wearing a T-Shirt beyond the armor,
the Rukka Armor keeps me dry and warm. Incredible.
On the other hand, IF someday the summer is back, I will drop the inner liner and will
have a fine, thin, but safe summer armor.
Prices are high, i bought trousers and jacket for 1.100 $ (US). But it looks like
worth it....

P.S. They have a article of a Tracy Martin, editor at CycleShark.com, testing the
Rukka Air Power Armor in the way I never want to.
P.P.S If someone like to have a look at nice twisties, follow the rukka link to "La
Sella Ronda". We have hold our first GTS meeting there two years ago...great place,
fine roads.
