Try ringing some other insurance company's and ask for a quote , but before
they begin to quote you , tell them it's an IMPORT and ask what's needed to
be legal in the UK.
Carole Nash insurance , as they are very helpful ( i've got my insurance
with them ).
Sounds like the headlight will be ok if it passes MOT's.
Don't know if the speedo comes under MOT's , you probably need a sticker
that shows all the mile per hour speeds IE 10/20/30/40 etc , that covers up
the Kmh's .
I would have thought your insurance company WOULD want to know that you have
an import.
