I ran into this once before, and ended up replacing the "bolt" and that
eliminated the problem. I have not found Yamaha's tolerances to be
unacceptable, other than piston ring end gaps, but that is another story. You
are correct in your thinking that you do not want the inner bushing to spin
or move. That is the whole idea of putting bearings in there. Let the
bearings account for any movement. I dont see anything wrong with your idea
however. I just never worry about Yamaha quality control. They have proven to
be top shelf with me time and time again.
