My switch has needed giggling for several years now. It also loosened off
shortly after I took delivery in '95 which required removal of the front
fairing and instrument cluster to find the bolt. Two years later the
second bolt loosened up and I spent another frustrating two hours
disassembling and remounting fairing and instrument bits.
If you make the effort to check out your ignition mount, I strongly suggest
using some locktight on both bolts to make this a one time operation. A
final note before you start, the head of the bolt is designed to be
"theft-deterrent" in that there are only flanges on the head of the bolt to
tighten it, not remove it. Therefore, have some patience in reserve when
you finally get to the backside of your ignition switch. I think I drilled
mine out and replaced them with a pair of standard headed 5mm (?) bolts.
Check out the size at your local parts counter before you start.
