Sorry to spam this...

I had told Mike?? In Ill. that I would check out the GTS that's in Norcross
GA.

The bike is sub par - the paint is faded to the point that the bike is rust
colored rather than deep red. The gray panels are coming apart and
discolored. The seat cover has been replaced with one that doesn't fit...
(only the seat cover, not a corbin replacement). The bike has an after market
slip on - it makes it sound interesting, but I think that it's restricting -
the bike definitely doesn't have the power mine has (and mine is completely
unmodified). The chain guard is broken and fixed - the center stand is
missing the stoppers, so it's been hitting the rear swing arm. The owner has
removed the rear fender - he says he has it, but I didn't see it. The wheels
were painted to color match the paint, but much of the paint is no longer
on.... It also has a red windshield - I guess that's a styling preference (not
mine). All the aluminum has been polished - I think it looks cool on sport
bikes and even considered it on mine, but honestly, I'm glad I didn't do it...
it doesn't look right. I asked about the anti lock breaks working - he said
they did, but I put down about a 20 foot skid just up the street from him.
There is a fair amount of rust on on the bike - which struck me as odd... I
didn't think we had that much real steel in them... it's clearly been sitting
out much of it's life and has not been loved.

On the positive side...it has fairly good rubber on it... and it fired right
up.

$4500 is a tempting price, but I think if you spend $1000 - $2000 more, I think
you'll be happier. (on the other hand, if I could it for $3000 - I do it for
the parts alone).

Again, sorry to spam the group, but I didn't have Mikes?? address at home...
now I'm off to ride the North Ga Mountains with Doug Wilson (a fellow GTSer
down for the races) and then, it's a dual sporting weekend near Deals
Gap....life is good.
