Guys,
If the ECU can be opened, then the EPROM can be changed. I would look to
replace the existing EPROM with a small ZIF socket having the same land
pattern and pin out. This would then carry the new EPROM, and allow
experimentation with any new configurations that arise.
A steady hand and soldering iron can fix almost anything.

But the EPROM's are soddered on and sealed in to the ECU,
right? You'd have to replace the entire ECU - which is big
bucks.
