I seriously doubt that Yamaha treated the swingarm after they welded the
bosses onto the castings. Assuming that they didn't heat treat it after
they welded it, you can achieve the same tensile and yield strengths by
using the proper filler metal and technique. If it was my bike, and
insurance wasn't involved I would repair it. Due to the other damage on
the bike, and knowing what body pieces cost for this bike, my insurance
would be used.
