Hey Roberto,
It seems like someone in the past actually 'cracked' one of the
canisters
open and did some minor mods to it. I think he drilled out the screws on
the
end cap and then pulled out the innards, which he modified. Perhaps you
could
do something similiar and replace the 'rusted out' stuff with something
similair,
or maybe some fiberglass packing or something.
If nothing else, it might be interesting just to see what's in there!
(Watch out for mice, they might be building a 'condo' in there! The word
might have gotten out in the mice community, especially after the
success
in another listers bike, who's name shall remain, uh....nameless. ;^)
