I can only speak for the Autocom on-bike intercom.
Worth every penny if you can afford it!  May be used
with ear plugs, will give you audible, intelligible
sound @ 140mph, automatically adjusts for ambient
sound.  Auto volume is one of the most desirable
features of this unit and of any system for a
motorcycle--we got enough to do w/o fiddling with the
volume...
