I rode Alan's bike with the VFR rear end as I was looking to buy it from
Alan. I answered an ad in SF regarding a GTS and went over to Alan's house
to see it about 8 a.m. one morning and he said he had $35,000 in the bike and
was selling it for $10k. I have not kept in contact with him unfortunately,
but I was extremely impressed with him and his wife. He was selling all of
his bikes that week and I visited with him until about 10 a.m., til he said
he had to get going, he showed me his arm, he had a tattoo on it, a dotted
line all the way around his arm above the elbow with the words "cut here" an
an arrow pointing down to the line. He was having it removed that day at 1
p.m. and did not even mention it until he said he had to go. I passed on
the bike as I was just starting to look at GTS's and did not appreciate it as
I now would have. His attitude was unbelievable.. He was talking about
converting a future bike so he could ride with one arm. I hope I see him out
on the road one day.
