Hello All, Happy B-day to me, im 29 today (probably the young'n out of this crowd)....one full day left until my GTS!...TICK TICK TICK....damn.
But for a sub-birthday present to myself I bought a new helmet to match the bike. I found a great deal on an HJC Symax Helmet. (flip up chin bar, full face helmet) brand new for $195. STEAL...compared to the Shoei...they wanted nearly $500 for the same thing! I got it in a Merlot Red Metallic....wonderful color... The HID lights will have to wait for my wallet to catch up to my spending...maybe next year.... But RE: the HID LED lights....I have heard that within the next couple of years...all automotive lights will convert to Hi LED. I believe that there is a company in germany called Elcos that is in the midst of developing LED arrays...Thousands of LEDs in a small compact 6"square that is hundreds of times brighter than any bulb...with very little heat and very low wattage. I have also heard that LED arrays will/ could last a lifetime (literally.) They are rated for decades not years. Best Regards and waiting...waiting...waiting for tomorrow. Thor Metzinger
