Henry,

No argument here. The GTS is certainly a SPORT-tourer and is more fun than
something like an ST1100 (which I toured Europe with 5 years ago). I also
own a '01 CBR929RR and that's what I consider a sportbike. The strange thing
is that since I acquired the GTS this past July, I've been riding my GTS
more often than the CBR. The more I ride the GTS the more I like it. I just
wish the maintenance intervals were shorter and the oil consumption was
less. Speaking of oil consumption, was it you that was using a higher
viscosity oil? If so, how many mile arte on your bike and have you had any
ill effects?

Don't I wish? (Well, perhaps not....) So NOPE, you'd be wrong on the YZF
choice. :-(

The gts is as close to sport bike as I'll ever own, so that's why I called
it that. I'll never be able to ride a true sports bike, because I have at
least one knee that won't bend enough for a long enough time (as it is, I'm
usually in pain within a 1/2 hour or so, anyway). As I see it the GTS is a
SPORT-tourer, unlike my old Concours which was a sport-TOURER. So for me,
the GTS is my sport bike. It's lighter by 60 lbs than anything else I've
had in the past 15 years (had the Connie for 12), and it handles better.
